Fellows participate in a 72 day "on-campus/at-home" program. On campus, fellows attend workshops and seminars on clinical teaching/evaluation, research, administration/management, computer skills, written communication, and academic socialization. Michigan State University offers one of the nation's oldest and largest faculty development fellowships. This program is one of the few true primary care fellowship programs; bringing together 20 physicians each year from family medicine, general internal medicine and general pediatrics. The Primary Care Faculty Development Fellowship is supported by grants from the Division of Medicine, Public Health Service. This program is also supported by the departments of Medicine, Pediatrics and Human Development, and Family Practice, the Office of Medical Education Research and Development, and the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University.
